As the first—hand material for researeh into the Nanzhao state s politics& military, society& history and ec0nomv&
culture, the inscription on the Nanzhao Dehua Stele is highly valuable;and as a literary work that features a close-knit fabric, mildand roundabout statements, parallelism of sentences, and elegance of language, it is a splendid stel e—style essav.Todav when we stress the need for our national culture to”walk out”on its own initiative and highlight”the cultural turn”of translation studies, there has arisen a disproportionate theoretic probe into the significance, translator s identity and strategy in translating Chinese classics into English. The translation of the inscription 0n the Nanzhao Dehua Stele, however, embarks on actual practice and, guided all  the  way by ”foreignization”approach, progresses from "translator s invisibility" to "translator s visibility.” Herein, for the convenience of referenee,is published the full text of the inscription in English version as foilows.

From a rational point of view, Fichte elaborated his thoughts and critical spirit in his idea of self-alienation. He first
recognized man was a rational animal, and in his book On the Academic Mission he suggested that man's ultimate goal was the freedom to control irrational things. Fichte's "rationality", from an ontological sense, was associated with freedom; while from a methodological sense, "rationality" was a valid law of universal pursuit. But by taking his understandings of the reality as the pursuit of first principle and the construction of the science of knowledge, Fichte abstractly criticised the social reality from the perspective of philosophy .
