Objective: To better understand the antioxidative activities of the processed Shengma (Zhi Shengma) as well as the common Actaea plants. Methods: Studies on 26 samples of eight Actaea species from both Asia and North America were performed by using DPPH assay and HPLC analysis. Results: Most of the Actaea samples showed weak/no antioxidative activity with IC50> 150 μg·mL-1. Conclusion: The raw extracts of the roots and rhizomes of the Actaea plants only possessed low antioxidative activities.Actaea species is rich in polyphenols and the latter often show certain antioxidative activities. However, since the chemical profiles for polyphenols of Actaea samples are determined by many factors like plant sources, degree of drying, the way to prepare the processed Shengma, the quality and antioxidative activity of both Shengma and processed Shengma are often unstable. Great care should be taken when Shengma or processed Shengma are subjected for bioactive evaluations.

Objective: To study the metabolism of steroidal saponins extracted from Anemarrhena asphodeloides in rat intestinal flora in vitro and to identify the major metabolite. Methods: Rat intestinal flora and steroidal saponins extractions were incubated in vitro, and LC/MS/MS method was used to examine metabolites of steroidal saponins. The urine samples and dungs of the rats were collected after the rats were given with steroidal saponins extract in dose of 15 mg·kg-1 by gavage. The metabolites of the steroidal saponins were detected with LC/MS/MS, and the structure of the major metabolite M1 was identified. Meanwhile, the M1 obtained from synthesis was compared with the natural M1 both in vitro and in vivo. Results: In vitro, steroidal saponins extracted from A. asphodeloides were metabolized easily by rat intestinal flora, and the metabolic rate was very quickly, and the major metabolite was M1. The metabolite M1 increased gradually with the prolongation of incubation time, but the quantity of steroidal saponins extract were dropped quickly. Conclusion: Steroidal saponins extracted from A. asphodeloides are metabolized easily by rat intestinal flora.

Methods: We investigated 674 female freshmen according to sampling method. Results: There were 91.52% female freshmen majored in the medicine who know something about the spreading ways. The awareness of high-risk behavior and prevention measures was relatively high, but in the other transmission ways such as through mosquitoes, multiple partners and preoperative examination, they know a little. Except the regional factor, a freshman's knowledge about HIV/AIDS also depended on other factors, such as family, education, nationality and registered permanent residence(P<0.05). Conclusion: The awareness of female freshmen majored in the medicine about AIDs is relatively high to some degree, but we should improve college students' health education by various means in order to prevent and control HIV/AIDs spreading.

In order to screen suitable plants that have the strong purification in Erhai Lake out, four kinds of indigenous plants,Juncus effusus, Acorus calamus, Hemerocallis fulva and Isodon inflexus had been made into the plant floating bed to study their purified effect on nitrogen and phosphorus. It turned out that all four plants could keep their strong life force in the Erhai Lake and their biomass increased obviously. The most increased was Isodon inflexus Hemerocallis; fulva follows and the next was Acorus calamus; Juncus effusus was the least increased plants. All the four plants could remove the TN and TP obviously. The removal rates of TN were over 65%. The removal rates of TN achieved by Juncus effusus, Acorus calamus, Hemerocallis fulva Linn and Isodon inflexus were 69.8%, 80.03%, 72.60%,85.08%, and all of them were obviously higher than the control (37.10%). And the removal rates of TP was also obviously higher than contrast, which were 74.39%, 80.04%, 72.88%, 78.01% respectively. The examination proved that all of four plants had a good purified effect in the Erhai Lake, so they could be widely used in purifying the water of Erhai Lake in Dali in the future.

Objective: To report a case of primary small cell carcinoma(SCC)of the bladder and study the diagnosis and treatment. Methods:A retrospective study on clinical and pathological data of a patient with primary small cell carcinoma of the bladder, and a review of the literature on this topic were presented. Results: The outstanding symptom of the case was hematuria. A tumor was located in the right wall of the bladder. On histopathological study, the tumor was characterized by small cell carcinoma, immunohistochemical assay of Syn, EMA and NSE being positive in the tumor tissues. The case underwent TURBt with adjuvant chemotherapy, and there was a small tumor recurrence after 2 months. The case underwent total cystectomy and an ileal orthotopic neo-bladder procedure. After 1 year, there was no evidence for recurrence and metastases. Conclusion: SCC of the urinary bladder is rare, highly aggressive neoplasm, though the clinical and epidemiological characteristics have some similarities with transitional cell carcinoma. Its therapy advice is not yet uniform and its treatment should be multidisciplinary, including surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Objective: To explore the reason why cesarean delivery in primary hospital increased year by year and to analyze the surgical indications comprehensively, so as to adopt measures of reducing the rate of cesarean delivery. Methods: A retrospective analysis of the delivery mode and the surgical indications of cesarean delivery among 6 757 cases from January 2000 to December 2009 was made. Results:The rate of cesarean delivery was rising year by year during 10 years, from 8.47% in 2000 to 42.37% in 2009. As for the indications cesarean delivery, the main reasons are the dystocia and the fetal distress; the secondary reasons are the social factors and the iatrogenic factors. Conclusion: The main measures to reduce the rate of cesarean section are enhancement of
prenatal care and perilabor monitoring, and correct handling of indications for caesarian section.

Total detected rate was 77.5%. The detected rates of three different areas were 65.7%(school canteen), 82.9%(food market)and 85.0%(supermarket). The detected rates of three different materials were 68.2%(ordinary white paper), 91.9%(Kraft paper)and 70.0%(oil-proof paper). Conclusion: Contamination ratio of wrapping paper for cooked food was higher in Dali Area.

Objective: To learn about hygienic situation of refrigerator (freezer)so as to prevent food-borne infection disease. Methods: Rapid coliform test paper method was adopted to detect the coliform group in refrigerator and freezer. Results: Among the total detection of 7 refrigerators and 9 freezers, coliform group positive rates were 81.25%. The proportion of the raw and cooked without distinction was 12.5%, debris 43.75%, pollutants 50%, smell 12.5%. The comparison between the refrigerator and freezer coliform bacteria positive had no significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion: The fridge and freezer are high in coliform group positive rate, poor in hygienic situation.
